Sportpesa Premier League debutant Kakamega Homeboyz Fc is in a tug of war with Chemelil Sugar Fc over 2014 KPL Golden Glove winner Jairus Adira.
With reports confirming that the goalkeeper has been training in the last two weeks together with other new signings of Kakamega Homeboyz at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega with Chemelil Sugar officials on the other hand insisting that they have not agreed with Homeboyz over the player.
According to the chairman Kakamega Homeboyz Fc Cleophas “Toto” Shimanyula revealed that Jairus Adira had agreed to officially sign for his team immediately upon the expiry of his contract with the Sugar millers at the end of this month adding that I have confirmed even with the Kenyan Premier League officials however Chemelil Sugar are just trying to complicate this matter for no reason but I can assure you that Jairus Adira will be part of this squad starting July.
He continued that I will not delve in this issue because he hasn’t officially sign at this moment but we have discussed this issue at great length with him and we shall follow the law and wait until his contract expires before we get him on board.
On the other hand Chemelil Sugar Fc Secretary General Jones Bosco Magare reiterated that Jairus Adira extended his contract with two years and they have not received any bid from Kakamega Homeboyz Fc.
He continued that Jairus Adira is still our player admitting for a fact that his previous contract was to end this month but he has already extended it by two years adding that he is still a bona fide member of our team.
The SPL debutant have already filed transfer papers for the award winning custodian whose contract with the Sugar millers was due on 30th of June according to KPL records with the transfer window closing on 1st of July.
