Gor Mahia Fc head coach Marcelo Ferreira announced his plans to bolster his squad through active participation in the upcoming transfer window as well as preseason training for next season.
The Brazilian tactician is currently on holiday with his family in Italy reiterated that I joined this club after the team had played about four games adding that next season I want to be actively involved in preseason and recruitment so that I can be in a better position to make decisions concerning players.
He added that “We have very good players currently, but we need to strengthen the midfield and central defense positions, and I am hoping to get about six new players that will see us regain the league title and other trophies we lost”.
This is according to an interview with official KPL portal adding that we lost too many points early in the season and we were unable to recover in good time but congratulations to Tusker Fc for finishing ahead of us. We shall see them next season.
He continued that I am indeed disappointed as the clubs wonderful fans that we lost out on the trophy but I think we did well to finish second.
The former Brazil full back Marcelo Ferreira joined Gor Mahia Fc in March this year and he was tasked to guide the team to defend their 16th premier league title.
This was indeed a tough nut to crack that saw his side lose both the league title and two other domestic trophies wrapping up the season trophyless despite their massive fan base that called for his resignation but the fact is his contract is due in February 2018.
His concern right now is five key players that is Karim Nizigiyimana, Abouba Sibomana, Enock Agwanda, Boniface Oluoch and Eric Ouma contracts will run out at the end of this year but already informed the management and asked them to find ways to ensure they retain them.
