Mathare United bounced back to end their six match winless streak beating Gor Mania Fc by a solitary goal in a closely contested Sportpesa Premier League clash played at Thika Sub County Stadium on Sunday 30th April 2017.

Clive Nyakeya notched the winner on the 34th minute when Derrick Onyango delivered a through ball at the edge of the 18yard box for him to connect with his right foot unleashing a fantastic thunderous strike past GorMahia Fc goalie Boniface Oluoch giving the Slum Boys a 1-0 lead.
Ze Maria led charges missed a golden chance to restore the game to parity on the brink of first half through a corner set piece floated in by Godfrey Walusmbi only for Wellington Ochieng to head over the cross bar as both team headed to the break with Mathare United leading 1-0.

After the break Mathare United keeper Lewis Opiyo did a spectacular job displaying top notch goalkeeping skills to deny Godfrey Walusimbi in the 50th minute before Innocent Wafula’s free kick hits the side net on the 62nd minute.

Kogallo wasted their last chance to level the scores through two quick corners in the 88th and 90th minute only for Amos Nondi and Jacques Tuyisenge to send the ball over the crossbar giving Francis Kimanzi’s boy their first win of the season.
