Ten men Bandari Fc hammered Uweza Fc 3-1 to qualify for the next round of GOtv Shield tournament at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday 24th June 2017.
New signing Baron Oketch opened his goal tally for the Dockers before Anthony Wambani doubled their lead follow by super sub Hamisi Mwinyi late strike. Wycliffe Odeho notched a consolation goal for Uweza Fc.
The Dockers demonstrated their intent to win from the onset pilling pressure in their opponent 18 yard box to concede a penalty kick on the first minute that saw former Ulinzi Stars striker Baron Oketch stepping up to take the spot kick sending the wrong way Uweza Fc goalie Boniface Odhiambo giving his side a 1-0 lead.
On the 8th minute Bandari Fc streched their lead to 2-0 after a defensive blunder orchestrated by Uweza Fc back line when they failed to clear the ball in their box allowing Anthony Wambani to pick up the loose ball firing in past Uweza Fc Boniface Odhiambo.
Uweza Fc pushed harder chasing the ball to reduce the deficit as their efforts bore fruits on the 30th minute when Andrew Waiswa conceded a penalty and Wycliffe Odeho stepped forward to notch the spot kick sending Bandari Fc keeper Wilson Obungu the wrong direction as both teams headed to the breather 2-1.
On resumption both teams came in rejuvenated to score more goals but Uweza Fc wasted a golden chance to restore the game into parity from a set piece seeing their skipper Alex Kimanzi lovely cross hitting the cross bar before Bandari Fc suffered a major set back when their center back Andrew Waiswa was sent off the field of play on the 75th minute after he committed a foul.
But the Dockers pulled a surprise move when super sub Hamisi Mwinyi sealed off the game when he scored a late winner to end the match 3-1 as Bandari Fc sailed through to the next round of Gotv Shield tournament.
