Bandari Fc cruised to the quarter finals of GOtv Shield tournament courtesy of former Sofapaka Fc veteran defender Noah Abich late spot kick edging out Nakumatt Fc 3-2 in a five thriller staged at Mbaraki Sports Club on Saturday 22nd July 2017.

The visitors kicked off on a high note with Boniface Akenga’s attempt but Bandari Fc experience goalie Wilson Oburu displayed excellent goalkeeping skills making a brilliant save on the 6th minute before the Dockers broke the deadlock five minutes later when Anthony Wambani connected with an incredible free kick delivered by former Mathare United defender Noah Abich heading in past Nakumatt Fc custodian Sammy Okinda giving the host a 1-0 lead.

Paul Nkata’s led side continued with their quest for a second goal which paid off in the 26th minute when overlapping left back Hassan Abdallah buried the ball into the net pulling a magnificent volley from the right wing after poor goalkeeping skills orchestrated by Nakumatt Fc keeper Sammy Okinda to extend Dockers lead to 2-0.

But the visitors managed to pull one back when Boniface Akenga delivered a fantastic killer pass finding Kepha Aswani who passed his marker Felly Mulumba after he slipped and went down to beat Dockers goalie Wilson Obungu reducing the scoreline to 2-1 before the Shoppers goalkeeper Sammy Okinda denied Anthony Wambani to notch his second goal with a explenary save on the 40th minute heading to the breather with the host leading 2-1.

On resumption the visitors came in stronger with Sammy Okinda exhibiting brilliant skills at the post when he denied Kevin Omondi to score from a close range shot on the 55th minute.

A minute later Robert Omunuk curled in a superb cross finding Boniface Akenga in space to connect firing a brilliant strike to restore the game into parity.

However the host with home advantage managed to pile pressure which was fruitful on the 90th minute after former Bandari Fc midfielder David Naftali handled the ball from former GorMahia Fc attacker Jacob Keli’s shot for a penalty and Noah Abich stepped up to score the winner from the spot as Bandari Fc sailed through to the quarter finals of GOtv Shield.
